Embodying the Elements

Tending the Fire: living yoga, ayurveda, and movement alchemy for vital health

A 4-Day Prana Vinyasa Intensive with Shiva Rea, 23-26 September 2026

About the intensive

Our bodies carry all the elements of life: the nourishment of earth, the sacred water of our fluid nature, the metabolic and electrical fire within our cellular network, the life-giving air that supports every cell, and the space that permeates us all.

In Prana Flow, awakening the elemental body is the central energetic map. It creates the foundation for movement alchemy, for embodying nature, and for cultivating a seamless flow between practice and daily life.

Firekeeping 101 - Know They Self - Soulful Wellness

Our path to daily balance begins with caring for the elemental body through Ayurvedic dinacharya and seasonal rhythms that support a life of flow.

Living Ayurveda

Through the integration of the Prana Flow Living Ayurveda course, we will explore how the elements, gunas, and doshas within Ayurveda support physical and mental well-being. This is an invitation to discover the many layers of your being through the lens of Ayurveda and to apply this wisdom in daily ritual practices that nourish balance and vitality.

As part of this system, which is integral to the teacher training, you will be introduced to Five Elemental Prana Flow Namaskars and Ten Sequences as tools for balancing fire and supporting creative, effective yoga flow sequencing.

Experience the roots and evolution of vinyasa through Shiva’s guidance in the Elemental Vinyasa pathway of the Prana Flow system, including the Elemental Namaskars and Solar-Lunar Waves sequences within the Prana Mandala Vinyasa pathways.

What is Prana Vinyasa®

PRANA VINYASA® is a full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga, cultivated by Shiva Rea.

Students are invited to experience prana, the universal source of breath, life-energy, and conscious intelligence, as the guiding force of yoga practice and vital living.

Each practice follows one of the five elements, bringing creative variety to the rhythm of the day. Every sequence is an immersion into the element through movement meditation, opening mudra vinyasa, prana flow namaskars rooted in classical traditions, intelligent asana sequencing, breath flow, meditative awareness, body mudra, and ecstatic release into deep relaxation.

What to expect

  • Learn to embody and teach the Five Elemental Namaskars: Bhumi (earth), Jala (water), Agni (fire), Hridaya (air), and Akash (space).
  • Practice and receive Ten Solar-Lunar Elemental Prana Flow sequences to embody and learn to teach through Samudra’s Online Pathways of Prana Flow Program for certification.
  • Explore how solar sequences build toward peak asanas, while lunar sequences cultivate the inner arts: meditation, pranayama, mudra, mantra, and slow flow for flexibility and grounding through hip openers, forward bends, and inversion cycles in the mandala of asanas.
  • Study the principles of Prana Flow movement alchemy for elemental vinyasa sequencing.
  • Integrate the inner arts, including Tattwa Shuddhi tantric-based meditation.
  • Deepen your understanding of the microcosm-macrocosm of the elemental body within yoga and across cultures, and the importance of embodying nature in soulful times.
  • Return to Firekeeping 101 - Know They Self - Soulful Wellness, with care for the elemental body through Ayurvedic dinacharya and daily and seasonal rhythms for living flow.

Optional Masterclass: Fall Equinox Ritual

21 September 2026

Join Shiva Rea for a Fall Equinox Ritual Masterclass, where ritual and movement meet to honor the seasonal shift. This is an invitation to slow down, release, and align with the transition into the darker half of the year.

You may book this session separately or include it in your weekend at a reduced rate.

The Teacher

Shiva Rea

Shiva Rea is a globally renowned yoga teacher and the founder of Prana Vinyasa and the Samudra Global School for Living Yoga. Her work is grounded in a deep relationship with breath, rhythm, and the innate intelligence of the body, shaped by decades of practice, study, and teaching across cultures and landscapes worldwide.

Her teaching draws from the roots of vinyasa yoga and is informed by long-term study in tantra, Ayurveda, the Krishnamacharya lineage, kalaripayattu, world dance, and somatic movement. Through this lived integration, Shiva offers yoga as a way of life that connects movement, ritual, and awareness, inviting practitioners to experience flow as something that extends into everyday living.

Global Flow x Shiva

Shiva Rea was one of my first teachers. I began practicing with her sixteen years ago, and her work has had a lasting influence on my path as both practitioner and teacher. Through her guidance, yoga revealed itself as a creative, embodied practice that continues far beyond the mat.

What resonates deeply at Global Flow is the way Shiva weaves embodiment and ritual into her teaching, inviting practices that are truly felt and lived. We are excited to share this aspect of her work with our community and to create space for this way of practicing together.
