Step into the quiet generosity of the natural world and allow yourself to be held by it. This retreat offers a rare opportunity to spend extended time alone in nature, supported by experienced teachers and a caring group. Most of your days will unfold at a private campsite of your choosing, where the pace is unhurried and silence becomes a steady companion. Midday group gatherings create a meaningful rhythm of connection, offering discussion, support, a hot meal, and a shower before you return to the land. The experience is designed for people with retreat experience who feel comfortable being alone in nature, and it invites a deep journey of healing, self-discovery, and communion with the earth.
For those attending both this retreat and the NonDuality in Nature Retreat immediately afterward, you are welcome to camp at the center for the two nights between them at no charge.
If you are longing for several days of quiet solitude in a beautiful natural setting, held by teachers and community, this retreat may be for you. Time alone in nature can open a powerful doorway into who we truly are. As you settle into your campsite, the land begins to feel familiar. Animals may come near. Your heart softens to the beauty around you, and a deeper sense of belonging can emerge—an understanding that you are not separate from nature, but part of it. This recognition can be profoundly healing and transformative.
Across five days and four nights, you will live primarily in your solo campsite, with very little structure and almost no demands on your time. During the first three days, the group comes together at the lodge for sharing, support, and a nourishing meal before returning to the wild. The rest of the time is yours to rest in awareness, presence, and the embrace of the earth.
We begin at 4:00 pm on the first day with dinner, orientation, connection, and a night in the lodge. The following morning, you will head out to choose your solo spot and set up your tent and campsite. Over the next three days, the rhythm is gentle: you spend time immersed in nature, then return to the lodge at midday for sharing, support from the teachers, a hot meal, and a shower. After lunch, you go back to your camp with food for dinner and breakfast. The rest of each day and night is yours, allowing the land to hold you. The fifth day is a fully solo immersion, with no scheduled group or lodge time. On the sixth and final day, you break camp and gather with everyone for closing reflections and a celebratory lunch.
All meals are provided, and there is no need to bring a camp stove. Food is vegetarian and may include eggs or dairy, with vegan and gluten-free options available. In most cases, the cook can accommodate common allergies such as gluten or dairy, but not personal food preferences. Please note any allergy or health-related needs during registration. You may bring a small amount of packaged, unrefrigerated food for snacks or supplementation. Nothing that requires refrigeration should be brought, except medicine. Extra snacks are generally unnecessary; if you need a little boost, a small amount of trail mix or an energy bar is usually enough. Tea and coffee are available in the lodge during lunches, but not otherwise in the field.
“Thank you so much for this beautiful retreat. It was indescribably valuable for me to live with nature for an extended period of time. The invitation to be, rather than do, was a balm for my weary soul. I remembered who I am as being, rather than clinging to the sense of self I uphold in the ‘civilized’ world through accomplishment, control, and judgment. The spaciousness and grace of nature held me.”

“I loved the solo retreat! I loved the balance of meeting with sangha and solo practice. I felt very supported by the teachers, both in trusting me and my practice, and giving me more when I needed it.”
