Open to participants who have already completed at least one introductory half-day sitting at Green Gulch, or who bring an equivalent background in formal Zen practice, this one-day gathering offers a grounded opportunity to deepen practice in community.
Spending the day in shared sitting creates space to step away from daily noise, settle the body and mind, and reconnect with what matters most. The rhythm of the day supports stillness, clarity, and a more attentive way of being.
One-Day Sittings include formal meals in the zendo for breakfast and lunch, followed by an informal dinner in the dining room. Please bring your oryoki bowls; if you do not have them, suitable eating bowls and utensils will be provided.
Before registering, please review the sample schedule. If you have questions about the schedule, guidelines, or whether you are eligible to attend, please consult with the Head of the Meditation Hall (Ino) before completing your registration.
