Also called the Everest Circuit trek, this is one of the most exciting routes in the Everest Himalayas. The journey follows the high pass of Cho La at 5,330m toward the Base Camp of Mount Everest, passing through Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Gokyo, Chola Pass, Kalapattar, and Everest Base Camp.
You will travel to the homeland of the legendary Sherpa people, living at the base of the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest at 8,848m. The route follows the celebrated trail along the Dudh Koshi to its source at Gokyo Lake, west of Everest Base Camp, and includes the option to summit Gokyo Peak at 5,483m for sweeping views of Cho Oyu, Everest, and Makalu.
Trekking through the Gokyo Valley is a classic experience, with dramatic mountain scenery and views of the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in Nepal’s Himalayas. The clear blue and green waters of the Gokyo Lakes are among Nepal’s most iconic sights.
After taking in the extraordinary views of Everest and nearby peaks, and visiting Buddhist monasteries at the world’s highest elevations, you will return from Gorak Shep to Lukla by shared helicopter.
