Aromatherapy is a fascinating approach in the wider pursuit of health and beauty.
Essential oils are natural compounds extracted from herbs, roots, trees, flowers, and fruit. They are often used in massage, an ancient form of touch healing, and are blended with vegetable, coconut, and nut oils such as grapeseed and sunflower oil.
When applied to the skin, aromatic molecules from essential oils can be absorbed through the body’s fluids and then carried into the bloodstream.
The scents of essential oils also stimulate the emotional center of the brain. This highly responsive system is linked to other vital areas that help regulate heartbeat, blood pressure, breathing, memory, and the body’s reaction to stress.
Aromatherapy may support relief from stress, insomnia, headaches and migraines, muscular tension, stiffness and fatigue, high blood pressure, irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and palpitations, as well as menstrual and menopausal symptoms, among others.
In this workshop, you will be introduced to the basics of aromatherapy and how to use it safely at home. The session includes 3 hours of tuition covering aromatherapy benefits, information on 3 basic oils, dilution, and uses, plus a pack with 3 essential oils, base oil, base cream, other base products, a colour manual, and a blending chart. You will also have the opportunity to create your own products for home use, choosing from your 3 pure essential oils.
