At BeWell, one of our long-term aims is to strengthen the availability of yoga, pilates, and holistic professional development in the Irish Midlands.
For the past seven years, we have supported people in training to become internationally recognised and certified yoga teachers. Three years ago, we expanded our professional development offering to include pilates teacher training.
In 2025, we were proud to introduce the first-ever Yoga Alliance accredited 100-hour Children’s Yoga Teacher Training programme to the Midlands.
In March 2027, you can train with us for the third year in a row at our studio in Longford town, across five in-person weekends. After completing the training, you may qualify as an internationally recognised and certified Children’s Yoga Teacher.
If you feel drawn to children, wellness education, and helping the next generation build balance, self-regulation, mindfulness, and healthy ways of engaging with the world, this training is for you.
“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.” — John F. Kennedy
“Do not keep children to their studies by compulsion but by play.” — Plato
Children’s yoga teacher training is, in many ways, the art of playing yoga.
Through a safe and supportive space, fun classes, and simple step-by-step lessons, children can be encouraged to grow in creativity, self-awareness, social skills, and much more.
And the journey begins with us, the teachers. To hold space for children and create an engaging learning environment, we need to practise ourselves. On this course, you will explore yoga practices for your own body and mind, play yoga games, and build the confidence to stay centred, creative, and ready to share yoga with young students.
Understanding children’s physical development, behaviour, and learning styles is central to teaching well. As children grow quickly, teachers need the knowledge to adapt poses and activities so they are age-appropriate and safe. A clear understanding of behaviour supports positive group dynamics, while awareness of different learning styles helps each child connect with the practice in a meaningful way.
By bringing these elements together, children’s yoga teachers can offer classes that support physical well-being while also nurturing emotional resilience, cognitive growth, and a lifelong appreciation of yoga and mindfulness.
On this course, you will learn:
Throughout the training, you will explore a varied curriculum designed to equip you with the tools needed to support young minds and bodies through yoga.
We will cover foundational asanas tailored to children, with a playful yet structured approach to movement.
You will also learn simple and enjoyable pranayama techniques that build breath awareness, helping children channel energy and cultivate calm.
Games, songs, and chants will be added to your teaching toolkit, along with engaging methods that help create joyful, memorable classes.
Sample lesson plans will be provided to help you begin, together with a lesson plan template for creating your own fun classes.
Mindfulness and focus exercises are included to strengthen concentration and self-awareness, while a range of meditation and relaxation practices offers support for emotional regulation and stress relief. This training is designed to deepen your understanding of yoga’s holistic benefits and help you foster resilience and well-being in children aged 3–13 years old.
