Good to Know
This retreat is especially suited to solo travelers and those with little or no art experience. Dietary needs can generally be accommodated if shared in advance. Spring and autumn weather in Dordogne can vary, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 30°C, so layers and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. French is not required, though a friendly “Bonjour” and “Merci” are always welcome.
Step into a secluded château stay designed for book lovers, where quiet corners, timeless stories, and the charm of the French countryside create a true home away from home. Over the course of a blissful week, guests can sink into their favourite novels and fairytales while enjoying comforting meals prepared by your hosts or by a professional chef, featuring local Dordogne flavours. Between reading sessions, explore the picturesque streets of Brantôme and Périgueux, with their inviting bookshops and cultural discoveries. It is a peaceful retreat for anyone who treasures literature, authenticity, and exceptional cuisine.
