Spend Memorial Day Weekend on Maui’s lush north shore for a 5-day LGBTQ+ wellness and adventure retreat hosted by California Gay Adventures (CGA) and Pride Adventures. This holiday escape blends restorative practices, meaningful connection, and island exploration in a setting designed for renewal.
Each day brings a thoughtful balance of wellness and adventure. Begin mornings with yoga or meditation, then move into possibilities like breathwork, mindfulness, jungle hikes, waterfall swims, poolside downtime, or a shared meal inspired by Hawaiian flavors. Evenings invite sound healing, sunset circles, and time to connect under the stars.
Your home for the retreat is Hale Akua, a private eco-sanctuary perched on ocean cliffs. Surrounded by gardens, jungle trails, and sweeping views, the property also features hot tubs, a saltwater pool, an infrared sauna, and peaceful spaces to relax and unwind.
Over five days, you’ll have the chance to experience some of Maui’s most iconic highlights, including the legendary Road to Hana, snorkeling with sea turtles, the vibrant reefs of Molokini Crater, and sunset above the clouds at Haleakalā. Most activities are included in the retreat package, while a few optional excursions can be added for those seeking even more adventure.
The retreat is intentionally flexible, so you can choose the pace that feels right for you. Dive into the full program of wellness practices and island outings, or simply rest and enjoy Maui’s natural rhythms. Whether you’re joining a yoga session in the jungle studio, taking a morning beach walk, or relaxing by the pool, there are plenty of ways to make the experience your own.
Community is at the heart of this getaway. Shared adventures, chef-prepared meals, and intentional time together create space for support, joy, and connection with fellow LGBTQ+ travelers and allies. Limited to just 28 guests, this retreat offers an intimate atmosphere with room to recharge.
A walk-through of Hale Akua’s grounds is also part of the experience, giving you a chance to take in the lush gardens, ocean views, and many inviting places to rest. From jungle trails to open-air showers, every detail reflects the sanctuary’s peaceful spirit.
With a light to moderate physical rating, the retreat is suitable for a wide range of participants. A moderate level of mobility is recommended, but no advanced fitness is required, and all activities remain optional.
This is a comfortable eco-retreat that combines Maui’s natural beauty with the serenity of a well-appointed sanctuary. It’s an ideal choice for LGBTQ+ travelers seeking wellness, adventure, and community in equal measure.
