Cave Diver

Cave diving is widely regarded as one of the most demanding yet rewarding disciplines in diving. Beneath the surface lies an extraordinary hidden world of mystery, beauty, and natural wonder, and the IANTD Cave Diver programs are designed to open the door to that environment.

These training programs provide a safe, progressive, and controlled pathway for divers to expand their knowledge and abilities under the direct supervision of an IANTD Cave Instructor.

Building on your current experience, you will gain a deeper understanding of the advantages of cave diving while learning how to assess and manage the risks unique to this environment. Description

The Cave Diver program is structured to guide the diver through all training needed to plan and carry out dives in the cave diving environment.

During the course, strong emphasis is placed on refining equipment configuration, buoyancy control, and propulsion techniques so that cave dives can be conducted safely and efficiently. Line following, line laying, and reel use are covered in depth, along with essential safety practices such as isolation manifold use, gas sharing, and light failure drills. A significant part of the program also focuses on team diving procedures and communication.

Prerequisites: Must be qualified as a Cavern Diver or equivalent. If not, must have proof of 100 dives or sufficient experience doing technical dives to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age Have a minimum of 50 logged cave dives
