Held three days before Nyepi, this sacred ceremony is a time for purification, reflection, and spiritual preparation. Local temples gather their holy artifacts for cleansing, while the community turns its attention inward, focusing the mind on God and the deeper meaning of the coming quiet period.
The ritual is also devoted to cleansing nature itself and to seeking Amerta, the source of eternal life, from the ocean or other bodies of water such as lakes and rivers. Through this meaningful observance, participants experience a powerful connection between devotion, the natural world, and the cycle of renewal.
