This Level 2 training is designed for Indea Yoga’s certified Level 1 Hatha or Ashtanga Vinyasa teachers. Upon completion, participants receive an RYT 500 certificate. Building on the foundation of alignment and breath from Level 1, this course deepens understanding of yoga therapy and supports teachers in growing their confidence. It expands knowledge of anatomy, common limitations, injuries, and health conditions, while also developing the ability to create appropriate sequences for different needs. Over four intensive weeks, the program explores asana and pranayama in greater depth.
Teachers are also introduced to hands-on adjustment, with guidance on how to correct students effectively while conserving personal energy and respecting individual needs and limitations. The training includes bandhas, mudras, kriyas, and meditation, setting it apart from the Level 1 Teacher Training Course.
Another distinctive benefit of the Level 2 program is a complimentary, professionally designed website for every graduate. This valuable resource helps support the start of a teaching career by establishing an online presence, presenting skills, and reaching potential students.
After completing the Advanced Teacher Training Course at Indea Yoga, teachers become eligible to enroll in Shikshaka Sadhana, the Level 3 Teacher Training Course.
NOTE
This course involves up to 12 hours in the classroom each day. It calls for full commitment, as students are expected to explore the many layers of yoga practice and philosophy in depth. The intensity of the training can significantly shift one’s perspective on yoga. Thorough homework and a clear, focused mind are strongly recommended.
Bharatha Yoga’s Primary series for Ashtanga teachers and Foundation series for Hatha teachers are practiced daily. Each participant also has the opportunity to lead the full class through the sequence every day.
Bandhas, mudras, and kriyas are examined in detail. Unlike the Level 1 Teacher Training Course, teachers learn how to adjust students correctly in every asana from the prescribed series.
Daily chanting includes all prescribed Bharatha Yoga chants such as Nirvanashatakam, Shanti mantras, Gayatri mantra, and bhajans.
Pranayama practice becomes more intense through the use of bandhas and mudras. The session also includes a few minutes of guided meditation.
Kriyas such as jala neti, sutra neti, trataka, and nauli are practiced every day. Vamana dhouti and shankaprakshalana are introduced, with one opportunity to practice each week.
This module carries significant weight. Teachers become familiar with more than 20 bodily ailments and learn how yoga may be used to address them.
The course covers Patanjali Yoga Sutras – Vibhuti Pada (chapter 3), Kaivalya Pada (chapter 4), and Karma yoga Sloka Sangrahah (Bhagavad Gita), along with the basics of chakras and Ayurvedic principles.
Applicants must have completed Level 1 Ashtanga Vinyasa/Hatha Yoga TTC at Bharatha Yoga.
They should be able to perform 80% of the Primary/Foundation Series. Preparation at home is encouraged.
For a more beneficial visit to the shala, students may practice with Bharatha Yoga certified teachers near their location.
If that is not possible, they may join Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Guided Self Practice classes, also known as Mysore Style Classes, before beginning the teacher training course.
