This retreat is an invitation to return to yourself — to open to the authentic presence of your being through plant medicine ceremony and earth-based traditional practices. It centers on the understanding that everything you need is already within you, and that healing is the art of integrating, accepting, and loving what is. In that process, you are invited to claim the light of your true nature and let it guide your path.

Sarah’s teachings are rooted in nondual philosophy, based on the understanding that we are one. Through the cultivation of loving awareness, we remember that we are not separate from our Source, and from that place we begin to align how we live with who we truly are. She is also the author of Trauma as Medicine, a DIY book for healing trauma and transforming your life, inspired by her own journey following the loss of her mother to homicide and the path of healing and forgiveness that followed.

Starlight Medicine Ritual – Passed down through ancient starlight teachings, this ritual is offered as guidance for these times of awakening. It supports opening to the highest light for greater clarity on your path, and is shared through visualization, shamanic journeying, and earth-based practices.
Forest Medicine ceremony – The Rainbow serpent lodge was passed to Sarah many years ago through her Spirit guide Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom. In this night ceremony, she shares mushroom tea and supports the experience with channeled medicine songs, music, hands-on healing, tobacco cleanse, and other shamanic methods. This medicine is intended to help you move through the underworld aspects of life so they can be integrated with the light.

Heart medicine Ceremony – Sarah will facilitate this profound day ceremony, offering a powerful way to connect with the inner child and deepen embodiment. Held within the social and sacred container of the retreat community, it invites you to see yourself in a new way, release stories that no longer serve your highest good, and reconnect with a child-like sense of wonder.
Fire Ceremony – Working with the spirit of fire, you will learn a practice passed through the Inca Medicine Wheel tradition for cleansing your being and asking for help.
Hape ceremony – This sacred snuff, made with tobacco and other plants, supports healing through the opening of the third eye, connection with the heart, and a grounded awareness in the physical body.
Despacho – From the highest reaches of the Andes Mountains, this ceremony offers a gratitude practice rooted in the celebration of life. Using flowers, seeds, and objects from nature, a mandala is created with prayer and intention to give thanks for all that is here.
Integration – With over 20 years of experience facilitating circles, Sarah understands the importance of bringing your visions into shared space. This part of the retreat supports awakening through being seen, listening to the teachings of the group, and using your voice as you share from the heart.
The team – Sarah has gathered a strong team of assistants, all professionals in the holistic field, to support you as you turn inward and tune in.
The location – The Sentinel offers a deeply supportive setting for soul healing. Set on 6 pristine acres on Kootenay Lake, it holds you in the power of ancient mountains with love, wisdom, and stillness. Every room has a lake view, the food is local and organic, with much grown on the property, and guests can enjoy a hot tub, sauna, and cold plunges in the lake.
