Like gravity, love is the quiet force that holds life together. Satish Kumar invites us to open our hearts and experience love in all its forms.
Love is presented here as the essence, meaning, and purpose of life. It asks us to release lust and fear, ego and expectation, and to build our lives on mutuality, reciprocity, humility, and generosity. In Satish’s view, love is also a response to some of the greatest challenges of our time, including the climate crisis, national and religious conflict, racism, poverty, and social injustice.
Inspired by his book Radical Love, Satish is hosting this weekend gathering to help participants explore love on every level: personal and universal, intimate and ultimate. The experience includes love of nature, love of people, and love of yourself.
Alongside Satish’s teachings, 42 Acres will offer immersive experiences inspired by the wisdom of nature, together with delicious hyper-local food freshly prepared by the in-house retreat chefs. Meals are organically grown and wild-foraged from the land you will be walking on.
June Mitchell will lead Qi Gong sessions on the lawn beneath twin ancient oaks. Qi Gong is an Eastern practice of physical and spiritual exercise designed to cultivate and strengthen the body’s life force, or qi.
Join Satish, June, and the 42 Acres team for a weekend of inspiration, connection, and the chance to nurture your own love and sense of belonging.
Accommodation ranges from simple cottages to luxurious barn conversions and spacious bell tents. Guests are provided with luxurious linens, fluffy towels, and local organic toiletries, along with thoughtful details to support the retreat experience, including yoga mats and swim towels. All buildings are powered by 100% renewable energy, reflecting the estate’s commitment to leaving the earth in better shape than it was found.
Tickets are priced per room. If you would like to share your room with a friend or partner, an additional fee applies to cover workshops, experiences, and meals. Please add this when booking.
For terms and conditions, please refer to the event information provided. Accessibility requests can be made directly to the team.
A lifelong activist, peace pilgrim, and former monk, Satish Kumar has been inspiring global change for more than 50 years.
At the age of 9, he renounced the world and became a wandering Jain monk. Inspired by Gandhi, he later decided at 18 that he could do more by returning to the world and working to turn Gandhi’s vision of a peaceful future into reality.
In his early 20s, Satish was inspired by British peace activist Bertrand Russell, who was arrested at 89 during an anti-nuclear demonstration. This led Satish to undertake a peace pilgrimage from India to Moscow, London, Paris, and America. Travelling without money and relying on the kindness of strangers, he delivered a humble packet of peace tea to the leaders of the four capitals of the nuclear world. Now in his 80s, he continues to dedicate his life to ecological regeneration, social justice, and spiritual fulfilment.
42 Acres is a regenerative estate, nature reserve, and wellness retreat center with a vision of living in harmony with nature, self, and others. Drawing on deep intuition, ancient tools, and shared knowledge, the team creates regenerative spaces, curates transformational experiences, and supports opportunities to learn, heal, and grow.
The estate invites guests to explore 173 acres of wild spaces, including ancient woodland, rewilded meadows, an 11-acre lake, and pioneering nature restoration projects.
A thoughtfully converted former livery stable, this practical three-bedroom cottage sits on one level and is surrounded by nature on our regenerative estate. The bright main living area enjoys triple-aspect views and an easy open-plan layout, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for six, and two sofas, one of which converts into a double sofa bed. Please note that there is no dishwasher or freezer. The main bathroom includes a shower over bath and toilet.
The first bedroom is a double room with a private shower room and is accessed only through French doors from the courtyard, offering a sense of privacy. The second bedroom can be arranged as a king or twin and has its own bathroom with a shower over bath. The third bedroom is also a king or twin, with a private bathroom featuring a shower over bath; this room can be reached from the courtyard and via pocket doors from the living space. Each bedroom opens onto an outdoor patio and lawns.
Set across 173 acres of wild landscapes, the cottage is surrounded by ancient woodland, rewilded meadows, edible hedges, a lake suitable for wild swimming, and abundant wildlife. Guests are welcome to explore the estate.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Please request the pet policy in advance so arrangements can be made. Two of the three bedrooms can be set up as kings or twins; as standard, they are prepared as kings, and twin configuration should be requested in the booking notes.
