Kathmandu offers an inspiring starting point, with its lively atmosphere, historic temples, bustling markets, and deep cultural character. As you move through the city’s narrow streets, you’ll encounter traditional arts, crafts, music, dance, and the warm hospitality Nepal is known for.
Beyond the capital, the Himalayan range opens into breathtaking views and a sense of quiet that naturally supports inner focus. On the Nagarkot trail, you can connect with forests, mountain scenery, and wildlife in nearby national parks such as Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, where tigers, monkeys, and many bird species may be seen. It is an ideal setting for yoga, meditation, and time in nature.
Nagarkot lies 32 km east of Kathmandu at around 2200 meters above sea level. It is especially known for sunrise views over the Himalayas, including eight of Nepal’s thirteen Himalayan ranges: Mount Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Jugal, Rolwaling, Mahalangur (Everest range), and Numbur. It also offers panoramic views of Kathmandu city.
