Vrmac is a striking mountain peninsula in Montenegro, rising between Kotor Bay and Tivat Bay and offering sweeping views over the magnificent Boka Bay throughout the tour. Its highest point is St. Ilija, standing at 785 m above sea level. As a natural extension of Lovćen, Vrmac also carries a rich historical legacy. In the past, it held major strategic importance as the border zone through Verige between the Ottoman Empire and the Venetian Republic, which is why traces of old fortification structures can still be seen today. The area is also known for the 1,637-meter tunnel cut through Vrmac, linking Kotor with the Adriatic Highway and the rest of Montenegro.
