Settle into clarity, peace, and a deeper relationship with yourself at Himkosi Farm Stay, 15 km from Kasar Devi. Located on the banks of the calm Kosi River in Almora, this retreat offers a quiet setting where you can slow down and reconnect with nature’s spaciousness.
This retreat is an invitation to cultivate stillness in both mind and body. Surrounded by the green landscapes of Farka Village and the organic farming life of Himkosi, you will explore meditation and self-inquiry practices designed to support inner calm. In yogic and meditation traditions, stillness helps you remain present, reduce mental clutter, and open the door to deeper insight.
The farm’s expansive, self-sufficient environment naturally supports this process, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the experience.
At The Stillness Retreat, the focus is on unlearning unnecessary ideas and gently clearing away misconceptions about spirituality. The teaching style is practical and approachable, using simple language that can be carried into everyday life.
You will be introduced to different meditation techniques and yogic practices, including Kriya Yoga and self-inquiry, so you can discover what feels most meaningful for your own path. The intention is to help you understand how these practices can fit naturally into your daily routine.
The program balances guided meditation sessions with thoughtful discussions that address doubts and encourage direct experience. Advanced asanas are not the emphasis here; instead, you can expect gentle stretching to prepare the body for long periods of meditation and greater physical ease.
To receive the most from this transformative time, arrive with an open mind and no fixed expectations. Let the peaceful atmosphere of Himkosi Farm and its natural surroundings draw you fully into the present moment.
Created by experienced yogis, this program emphasizes practical tools that support spiritual growth. It is designed for seekers who want to move beyond theory and experience the depth of meditation directly.

Just 15 km from Kasar Devi Temple in Uttarakhand, this location offers a meaningful setting for spiritual exploration.
Kasar Devi is widely regarded as one of only three places on Earth influenced by highly charged geomagnetic fields within the Van Allen Belts discovered by NASA. It is also believed that Swami Vivekananda meditated here in 1890, finding solitude and depth in one of the mountain caves of Kasar.
Over the years, Kasar has attracted spiritual seekers and creative thinkers alike, including Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, DH Lawrence, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Danish mystic Alfred Sorensen, Harvard psychologist Timothy Leary, and Lama Anagarika Govinda, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher.
A typical day may follow this structure, though the schedule can change slightly.
Farm to Fork
A central part of the experience is the farm-to-fork approach, with meals prepared from produce grown on the property or sourced locally. Guests are invited to walk through the farm, pick their own vegetables, and learn how the ingredients can be used in different ways.
Nourishing brunch and dinner are provided, along with herbal tea in the morning and evening.
Participants are encouraged to try 16-hour intermittent fasting, valued for its healing benefits and its ability to calm the mind and support meditative states.
The pricing includes stay, food, and sessions, excluding travel to the retreat centre.
Please note that the cost includes arrival on the retreat start date and departure on the 4th day at 10 AM. For additional days, please contact us.
