Reiki is a traditional Japanese healing method that works with Prana, or vital energy, to help cleanse and balance the body’s energy pathways. Today, it is also used in a therapeutic context to support physical and psychological well-being. While many healing systems exist under different names, they share the same intention: to restore harmony to the body, mind, and spirit through Universal Prana.
The foundation of healing, in this view, is that Prana moves through the body via nadis and chakras, helping sustain life and vitality. When this energy becomes weak or blocked, energy levels drop and discomfort may appear in the related area of the body. A healer works by channeling abundant Universal Prana to where it is needed most, especially when supporting a specific condition.
Reiki is also appreciated as a gentle alternative to massage, helping reduce stress and encourage deep relaxation. Many people living with anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, and the pressures of modern life find Reiki helpful in bringing more ease into their daily routine. Some healers and recipients also share experiences of support with chronic illness when Reiki is combined with dietary and lifestyle changes.
At AyurYoga Eco-Ashram, students are encouraged to explore Reiki or other healing approaches with an open mind. If the first session does not feel transformative, it is worth trying again with another healer at a different time, since the experience can vary depending on both the practitioner and the recipient. For those who have felt its benefits, Reiki often becomes something they naturally want to share with others.
Yoga Teacher Trainees are also encouraged to learn Reiki as a complementary skill that can enrich yoga teaching and even be integrated into yoga sessions. Compared with massage, which requires years of training and practice, Reiki is considered much easier to learn and offer as a healing practice.
At present, there is no resident Reiki healer on site, and the team is actively searching for one. Dates will be announced once a suitable healer is found.
For students who already know the value of Reiki and wish to share it with students, family, or friends, training is offered in three levels:
In Level 1, students receive Reiki initiation, cleansing of the pranic channels and chakras, and guidance on practicing Reiki on their own body. A manual with detailed information about the body’s energy points is also provided.
Level 2 focuses on giving Reiki to others, distance Reiki, the symbols of Reiki, and a deeper opening of the energy channels.
Level 3 leads to Reiki Master level, allowing the practitioner to train others to become Reiki healers. This is the teacher level of Reiki and calls for a sincere and committed practice.
The daily schedule may change depending on weather conditions, and it will also be adjusted according to the number and level of students.
