For whom

This week is designed for Yoga practitioners who want to refine their technique and deepen their understanding of the practice. You will be supported in maintaining the correct posture and guided step by step toward suitable intermediate variations, always in line with your own capacity and limitations. Special attention is given to your body type and to which asanas are appropriate for you, and which are not.

You do not need to be able to master the asanas in order to take part in this week.

Which Yoga style is practiced?

During this week, you will study Indian Classical Yoga. The practice is rooted in the asanas as described in Hatha Yoga. Hatha Yoga was traditionally practiced by yogis within their own community throughout the day. Their physical and mental condition differed from ours today, as we are surrounded by the pressures and noise of modern society. In Indian Classical Yoga, the asanas have been adapted to a limited extent so that we can still benefit from them without compromising physical well-being.

The Advanced Asana week takes place at Centre Lothlorien, set in a beautiful natural environment where relaxation comes effortlessly. Alongside the yoga classes, attention is also given to a healthy daily rhythm and suitable nutrition. Here, Yoga is truly a way of life.

Program

Activities take place Monday to Friday in the morning from 09:30 to 12:30 and include workshops, asana and pranayama. Each day, there is also a meditative walk. In addition, you may join morning yoga classes from 07:30 to 08:30.

The week is taught in English.

About the organisers

The week will be guided by Pinky More and Richard Slager.

Pinky was born in Mumbai, India, where she completed the most advanced yoga teacher programme at The Yoga Institute. After several years of working and travelling around the world, she settled in the Netherlands to introduce Indian Classical Yoga, the traditional style of yoga. In Kerala, India, Pinky studied Ayurveda and began offering Ayurvedic massages. Since 2012, she has been organising Yoga retreats at Centre Lothlorien. In 2019, she established the affiliation between The Yoga Institute and Centre Lothlorien. Today, in addition to leading her own Yoga Teacher Training Courses, she teaches in several European countries and takes part in yoga programmes in Dubai, Ghana and India.

Accommodation

Courses at Centre Lothlorien are generally held from Monday morning through Friday. It is possible to arrive earlier or stay longer. For a course week, arrival day is Sunday and departure day is Saturday.

Accommodation costs depend on your preferred stay. A double room with full board starts from €420 per person for a course week (6 nights).
