This summer, step into the Summer Retreat 2026 in the heart of the Sierra de Gredos. Set at the enchanting Hospedería del Silencio in La Vera, Extremadura, this retreat offers a sacred setting where nature becomes the teacher and silence becomes a powerful ally for inner transformation.

Direction and Facilitators

The retreat is led by Pablo Ferrero, founder of Matrika Yoga School. Teaching since 2006, Pablo brings together a rich and integral background as a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, a graduate in Yogic Studies, and a specialist in Ayurveda, Osteopathy, and Reiki. His approach weaves together the ancestral wisdom of Kashmir Shaivism and Tibetan Buddhism with a contemporary and deeply human perspective. The program also includes collaborating teachers and assistants trained at our school, creating a skilled and supportive team throughout the retreat.

Program and Approach

Our school is non-dogmatic; we respect all spiritual paths and warmly welcome practitioners from any tradition who wish to experience this way of sharing. There are no rigid goals or forced achievements. The intention is simply to settle in, as you are, within a safe and well-held space. The practice invites you to observe, deepen your work, and connect with the present moment.

We bring together a wide range of traditions: Iyengar Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Tantra Yoga, Tibetan Buddhism, and the Contemplative Arts (Tandava, Sufi whirling, and embodied practices). From the philosophical and cosmological foundations of Tantra to the practical application of the Hatha Yoga energy system, the retreat also explores the dance of Shiva and Kundalini energy.

Retreat Highlights

• Yoga Classes: Two daily sessions of 1.5 hours each, designed to strengthen the body and revitalize internal systems.
• Deep Meditation: Inspired by classical texts such as the Vijñana Bhairava, opening access to subtle levels of consciousness.
• Tandava and Ecstasy: Explore free movement, voice, and somatic release while connecting with pleasure and energetic points.

Practical Details and Prices

The retreat is taught in Spanish with English translation. It includes full board, teachings, and course materials. The setting invites you into a state of “nothing to do,” allowing beauty to unfold naturally in the play of life.

Equipment and Rentals

Please bring 4 blankets, 2 straps, and 2 yoga blocks. If you cannot bring your own, equipment rental is available for €25 (to be confirmed 48 hours in advance). Regular students may collect their own equipment from the school starting 7 days before, at no extra cost. Extra chairs and bolsters are also accepted.

Reservations and Cancellations

To reserve your place, a deposit of €100 is required. The remaining balance is paid upon arrival at the center. To secure your stay, please complete the attached pre-registration form and confirm your private room availability in advance.

Cancellation Policy:

• Within 14 days of payment: refund minus 30% administration fee.
• Between 14 and 30 days before the retreat: 50% of the amount paid will be refunded.
• Less than 30 days before: no refund will be issued.
