Vrmac is a striking mountain peninsula in Montenegro, rising between Kotor Bay and Tivat Bay. Its highest point, St. Ilija, reaches 785 m above sea level, and the route offers sweeping views over the magnificent Boka Bay. As a continuation of Lovćen, Vrmac also carries a rich historical legacy: in earlier times, it held major strategic importance as the border line through Verige between the Ottoman Empire and the Venetian Republic. Today, you can still see traces of former fortifications built to protect this frontier. A 1,637-meter tunnel also runs through Vrmac, connecting Kotor with the Adriatic Highway and the rest of Montenegro.
Experience a beautiful blend of mountain scenery and sea views on this private hiking tour.
