Simonetta Alessandri and Adalisa Menghini invite you to an exceptional gathering that combines technical skill-building with meaningful inner growth. Together, they create a special space for investigating and exploring movement, while supporting a genuine discovery of self. This retreat is designed primarily for dancers, improvisers, and performers, yet it warmly welcomes anyone seeking a more intimate connection with their own essence and with others through the body.
Refining focus
Attention becomes the key to accessing not only more refined movement, but also a deeper connection with our sensations, perceptions, and creative abilities. Through the Feldenkrais Method, improvisation, and contact improvisation, we will explore how mindfulness shapes our experience of the present moment. A shift in focus can open unexpected pathways, bringing clarity where there was uncertainty and ease where there was effort. Surprising variations in tone and dynamics also emerge, allowing us to explore the edges of our awareness and imagination. With curiosity, we welcome new territories and discoveries, cultivating the joy that arises from the ever-evolving process of creative exploration.
Simonetta Alessandri and Adalisa Menghini bring more than 35 years of combined experience in dance, performance, and wellness to this workshop. Their teaching practice is rooted in the organic development of improvisation and composition, drawing on the somatic approach of the Feldenkrais Method. Together, they offer a unique blend of knowledge and insight, enriched by a shared passion for creative exploration. Their individual backgrounds in teaching, performance, choreography, and dance event promotion shape this workshop, making it a truly collaborative and transformative experience.
