Siwaratri, known as the “night of Siwa,” is considered an especially sacred time for prayer, introspection, and meditation. Rooted in Balinese Hindu tradition, this observance invites a deeper pause from daily life and a return to stillness, discipline, and inner reflection.
During this period, participants may engage in three traditional practices: Monabrata, a 12-hour vow of silence; Upawasa, a 24-hour fast without food or drink; and Mejagra, a 36-hour period dedicated to meditation without sleep. Together, these practices create a profound space for mindfulness, self-awareness, and spiritual focus.
Siwaratri offers a meaningful opportunity to step inward, quiet the mind, and honor a timeless ritual of devotion and healing.
