Step into the garden and experience how permaculture can shape systems that are both productive and naturally resilient. This hands-on visit offers an inspiring look at how thoughtful design works in harmony with the land, rather than trying to force it into something it is not.
Join growers Guy and Dave for an engaging tour through the permaculture garden, where they share practical insights into the principles behind this approach. As you walk through the small, diverse farm, you’ll see how integrated, self-sustaining living systems are created in real time, including the way food is grown for guests in balance with the surrounding environment.
While the focus is on the garden, the ideas go far beyond farming. Permaculture principles can also be applied to business, relationships, and everyday life, offering a wider perspective on how to build with intention, connection, and long-term care.
A thoughtfully converted former livery stable, this practical three-bedroom cottage sits on one level and is surrounded by nature on our regenerative estate. The bright main living area enjoys triple-aspect views and an easy open-plan layout, with a fully equipped kitchen, dining table for six, and two sofas, one of which converts into a double sofa bed. Please note that there is no dishwasher or freezer. The main bathroom includes a shower over bath and toilet.
The first bedroom is a double room with a private shower room and is accessed only through French doors from the courtyard, offering a sense of privacy. The second bedroom can be arranged as a king or twin and has its own bathroom with a shower over bath. The third bedroom is also a king or twin, with a private bathroom featuring a shower over bath; this room can be reached from the courtyard and via pocket doors from the living space. Each bedroom opens onto an outdoor patio and lawns.
Set across 173 acres of wild landscapes, the cottage is surrounded by ancient woodland, rewilded meadows, edible hedges, a lake suitable for wild swimming, and abundant wildlife. Guests are welcome to explore the estate.
Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome at no extra cost. Please request the pet policy in advance so arrangements can be made. Two of the three bedrooms can be set up as kings or twins; as standard, they are prepared as kings, and twin configuration should be requested in the booking notes.
