Parent-led Activity Times include sports, games, nature-based activities, and plenty of arts and crafts. The River Yurt is transformed into a cozy, sensory-rich preschool, and evenings bring campfires with singing, bubbles, s’mores, and even juggling for those who want to join in.

Families will also have the chance to explore how the property operates. Where does the drinking water come from, and how is it purified? What happens inside the firehouse? How is electricity produced and automated? And perhaps most importantly, what happens to the waste flushed down the toilets?

The families who attend Family Summer Camp help bring the event to life through their talents, laughter, and generosity. The experience includes a thoughtful balance of structured activities and free time, and that balance will be discussed in the months leading up to the retreat.

Families are encouraged to form cohorts and spend time with one another’s children, giving parents space to enjoy Breitenbush as adults while the children play and make new friends. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure style week, shaped by connection, flexibility, and shared experience.

Pricing Updates: Breitenbush pricing will change on January 1st, 2026. All registrations completed before that date will use the current lower rates. If you already know you’d like to join, registering before then may help you secure those reduced costs.

Volunteer Hours: Parents are asked to volunteer 8 hours during the event. Breitenbush does not charge extra for Family Summer Camp. It truly takes a village to host this 5-day event.
