This retreat offers a meaningful chance to reconnect with yourself and with others through time in nature and the steady rhythm of yoga practice.
Set within a peaceful mountain complex in the lower Himalayas, it invites you to step away from daily routines, slow down, and return to a more centered state. The atmosphere is warm, comfortable, and supportive, creating space to care for your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Across 8 days, you will explore the foundations of yoga’s physical and mental disciplines, including asana, pranayama, yoga therapy, and yoga philosophy. Daily life at Dea Avnova is shaped by a simple and enjoyable yoga routine. Each morning begins with a pranayama session, followed by Hatha Yoga. After breakfast, the group gathers for open conversation around yoga philosophy.
There will then be free time to relax, enjoy the complex, and follow your own pace. Participants who wish may also take part in a private Yoga Therapy session with trained teachers to explore a health-related topic of their choice.
After lunch, the program continues with a nature or village walk, followed by a second Hatha Yoga practice. In the evening, everyone shares dinner and time together, building connection and community.
The 2.5-day trek to Chandrashila Summit is designed to ground you and deepen your connection with nature.
You will walk through the Indian lower Himalayas and encounter varied landscapes, from an alpine lake to a lush forest, ending at the 3700m Chandrashila summit at sunrise.
The trek also includes outdoor pranayama, Yoga Nidra, and short Hatha Yoga practices to help you stay rooted in the beauty of the natural world.
*The trek is accessible, but steep. We recommend that participants are generally active in daily life to ensure a pleasant experience.
Located in the heart of Mandal Valley, Dea Avnova is surrounded by farmland, with a river on one side, the Kedarnath wildlife sanctuary on the other, and the Himalayan ranges all around.
Natural swimming spots, waterfalls, unexplored hiking and trekking routes, and local villages are all within walking distance.
This is an ideal setting to experience nature in its purest form and to renew yourself through the healing energy of the mountains, rivers, and forests.
A permaculture garden surrounds the property and includes a food forest where flowers, fruits, herbs, and vegetables grow organically.
The rooms are built with natural materials such as stones and earthbags. The team also works to reuse everything generated on the premises and encourages guests to do the same.
Community is central to the vision, and Dea Avnova works with less privileged locals, especially women and youth.
Ingredients such as milk, fruits, and vegetables are sourced from nearby villages, in addition to what is grown on the farm.
