A relaxing week dedicated to Ayurveda, this retreat offers an introduction to Indian tradition while helping you understand the factors that influence the cleansing of the body and the different methods used for detox. Guided by Richard Slager, the program combines learning, practical experience, and time to unwind in a calm setting.
Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system that looks at the individual as a whole, seeking the root cause of imbalance and supporting restoration through the removal of excess and the replenishment of what is lacking. During this retreat, you will follow a half-day program designed to explore Ayurveda and detox in a gentle, accessible way, while also taking the first steps toward cleansing your body yourself. The aim is to give you the knowledge and confidence to begin a safe detox at home or follow a simple detox routine.
Today, Ayurveda is often associated with massage, vata, pitta, or kapha diets, and Ayurvedic cooking. While these practices can certainly be beneficial, they are only part of the picture. If you truly want to support your health, it is important to look closely at your physical and mental habits. A detox can bring temporary benefits, but lasting results come from addressing the underlying causes of imbalance. This retreat focuses on the foundational principles of Ayurveda that are often overlooked, helping you build a stronger basis for a healthy and happy life.
Personal circumstances and concerns are taken into account throughout the retreat. The program runs Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Morning yoga classes are also available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The entire week is taught in English.
An Ayurvedic massage with steam treatment is included in the retreat. This session will be arranged in consultation with you at a time outside the scheduled program hours.
