This week, children will set off on an adventure with Richard Slager (1985). Richard has been visiting Lothlorien since 2002 and has led many children’s weeks here over the years. He knows the special places in and around Centre Lothlorien and brings children into a vivid story world set in this adventurous landscape. Richard is also a father of two children. During this week, we are immersed in the theme of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
About Hobbits, Elves, Dwarfs, Humans and Wizards
While the hobbits live their peaceful lives, dark forces begin to spread across the wider world. A council is called together, bringing Elves, Dwarves, Men, and Wizards into discussion about how the powers of good can still prevail. The situation seems uncertain, yet hope remains. It turns out that the enemy’s One Ring has been found. If it can be destroyed in the land where it was forged, the enemy may still be defeated. But the journey is full of danger. Which brave heroes will dare to begin this quest?
Practical information
The children’s program runs every morning from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., alongside the adult program. Children meet at Edoras and head out on adventures in the woods around Lothlorien, make crafts in the workshop, play games, and listen to stories. Around 11:00 a.m., there is a drink and a snack, usually fruit or a cookie.
The group size is a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 15 children. The minimum age is 5 years old.
Please let us know whether your child can swim and whether there are any special needs, such as dietary requirements.
We assume that you will bring and collect your child after the program.
See you in the summer!
Accommodation
Courses at Centre Lothlorien are generally held from Monday morning through Friday. Staying longer or arriving earlier is possible. For course weeks, arrival day is Sunday and departure day is Saturday.
Accommodation costs depend on the type of stay you choose. A double room with full board starts at €420 per person per course week (6 nights).

There are three wooden log cabins located along the upper path. Each cabin features one room with a double sofa bed (1.40 x 2.00 m), a single bed (70 cm x 2.00 m), and a table with two chairs. Electricity is available, and the veranda includes a simply furnished outdoor kitchen. Outside, you will also find a table with chairs.
Please bring your own bed linen, including a bottom sheet and pillowcases, as well as kitchen linen. A linen package with duvets can be rented for €35 per week; please request this when booking. If you prefer not to cook, you are welcome to dine at the Chateau.
During school holidays, rentals are available only by the week, with changeover on Saturday or Sunday. We ask that you leave the cottage clean and tidy on departure; otherwise, a cleaning fee of €45 will be charged. Pets are not allowed in the cottage.
Arrival is between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. If you plan to eat at the Chateau on your arrival day, please check in before 6:30 PM, as dinner is served at 6:30 PM. Check-out is before 10:00 AM.

The house has electricity, but no running water. Guests use the sanitary facilities behind the holiday home, approximately 50 meters away, just like the guests of the other cottages. There you will find a shower, toilet, a four-burner gas appliance, and washing-up facilities.
