A one-day silent retreat at Gayles. The price is per person and includes walking, yoga, meditation, and all food and refreshments.
Time and space are among the greatest gifts you can offer yourself. And when you find peace within, you offer something equally valuable to the world around you.
In a life filled with noise and constant distraction, it is easy to stay busy without ever truly meeting ourselves. Too often, our minds run on autopilot, carrying us from one moment to the next. This silent retreat gives you the chance to step away from daily life, creating room to slow down, reflect, and deepen your understanding of who you are. You will leave feeling refreshed, reset, and ready to return to everyday life with a clearer sense of self.
A simple, grounded, and inspiring path to self-discovery.
The first step into yoga. A spiritual practice often begins with the physical postures of Asana. While these are important, they are only the beginning of the journey. Developing self-awareness through Svadhyaya — made possible by stepping back from life and making time and space for yourself — is an essential part of the path to yoga.
From plant to plate, we serve homemade meals made largely from our own lovingly tended organic gardens, keeping the food as fresh and natural as possible with a virtually zero carbon footprint. Simplicity and generosity are central to what we do, and every meal is prepared and served with respect and care using the best ingredients available. All food is vegetarian, and dairy and wheat alternatives can be provided.
Set in some of the most beautiful countryside in England, Gayles rests within eleven acres between National Trust land, a Country Park, and Forestry Commission land. The surrounding views are magnificent, and iconic landscapes are always close by. From Friston Forest to Cuckmere Haven and the Seven Sisters, some of the region’s most celebrated scenery is only a short walk away.
