About The Medicines

Our 4-Day Ayahuasca Retreats in Barcelona include Ayahuasca, Rapé Sananga and Kambó.

Original Yagé from the Cofán lineage

The medicine served in the retreat is known as Yagé, the name traditionally used in Colombia for Ayahuasca. It is prepared in collaboration with Taitas from the Cofán lineage, following a simple and respectful recipe made only from the Yagé vine and Chagropanga—nothing more. This is an authentic preparation, rooted in ancestral knowledge and guided by the traditions of the elders who have safeguarded this work for generations. The plants are grown and harvested consciously, with care for the land and the continuity of the tradition, honoring both the ecological balance and the cultural lineage that sustains this form of healing work.

Rapé and Sananga

Rapé and sananga are offered within the retreat as complementary rituals, held with respect and clear intention. Rapé is a sacred Amazonian snuff traditionally used to support grounding, focus, and energetic clarity, while sananga is applied as an eye medicine connected to sharpening perception and presence. Both are shared in a ceremonial context, never as obligations, and always with explanation and care. These practices are understood as supportive tools within the process, helping some people to center themselves, release tension, or arrive more fully into the space, while respecting that each person’s experience and relationship with them is personal and variable.

Live music and silence

Live medicine music is an integral part of the ceremonies. Music is offered live through voice and guitar by Fransie, together with other musicians using instruments such as harmonica and flute, always guided by intention and presence. Nothing is introduced by chance: the music is sung to support the space, sustain the energetic field, and accompany the process as it unfolds. Silence is equally respected, with moments where no music is played, allowing participants to remain with their inner experience and the depth of the ceremony.

Tobacco

Tobacco is honored in the retreat as a master plant, traditionally used for grounding, energetic protection, and spiritual cleansing. Through its use—such as in smoke, prayer, or ritual application—tobacco helps clear the space, strengthen presence, and support the energetic field, always as a supportive tool rather than a solution, and always guided with care and intention.

Kambó Ritual

Kambó is offered as an optional practice within the retreat, always approached with care. It is shared in a structured context and only when it is considered appropriate, never as a requirement to participate in the retreat. Kambó is understood as a traditional Amazonian medicine that can support physical and energetic cleansing, helping you release and detoxify the organism, as a vaccine, working on your immune system and your energetic field. Participation is always voluntary and guided with attention to safety and individual readiness.

One on One Holistic Therapies

The retreat includes one individual 1:1 session with a professional therapist, offered as a dedicated space to reflect on your experience, gain perspective, and better understand what may be emerging in your process. In addition, participants may choose to add optional individual therapies during the retreat, such as emotional cleansing work or healing massages, offered as complementary support for those who feel called to deepen their process through personalized, body-based or energetic accompaniment.

The Experience

Mahanse experiences are held as a structured and carefully accompanied space for inner work. It combines guided ceremonies with moments of movement, rest, integration, and silence, allowing each person to move through their process at their own pace.

The experience is not designed as an escape or a quick fix, but as an opportunity to slow down, listen inwardly, and engage honestly with what is present. Ceremonies are an important part of the retreat, supported by an experienced team that remains attentive and present throughout, but they are not the only focus.

Between ceremonies, there is time for integration, body-based practices, personal reflection, and shared moments within the group. Silence, nature, and rest are respected as essential parts of the process, alongside spaces for connection and conversation.

The retreat offers a clear container, deep knowledge from the guides, and continuous support. What each person experiences will depend on their own moment, intention, and willingness to engage with the process. No outcomes are promised—only a safe, grounded environment in which to explore with responsibility and presence.

For who is it?

This retreat is for people who feel a genuine call to slow down and engage in inner work with honesty and responsibility. It may resonate with those who are in a moment of transition, questioning, or emotional stagnation, and who are willing to look inward without expecting quick fixes or external answers. It is suited for individuals who value structure, clear boundaries, and a respectful ceremonial context, and who are open to listening to their own process rather than being guided toward a specific outcome.

About the ceremonies

The process is held within a clear and supportive rhythm. During the day, there are integration spaces and gentle movement sessions that help ground the experience and bring awareness back into the body. Before each ceremony, participants are guided through preparatory practices such as breathwork, meditation, or sound healing, allowing the nervous system to settle and the mind to quiet.

Rituals with rapé and sananga are included within a respectful and traditional framework. The ayahuasca ceremonies take place at night, held in a structured and carefully supported environment, with the team present throughout to care for the space and accompany each individual process with attention and responsibility.
