This fully residential 300-hour Bhakti Yoga teacher training course in Rishikesh is thoughtfully structured to combine in-depth theory with practical training. The program offers a disciplined, immersive environment where students explore traditional yogic methods through guided study, daily practice, and supervised assessment.
Bhakti Yoga is presented as a path of devotion and inner transformation, woven into a broader traditional yogic framework. The course is designed to support steady growth through a yogic lifestyle, spiritual inquiry, and consistent practice. It follows an authentic approach rooted in classical teachings, with a clear emphasis on traditional methods rather than modern fitness-based styles.
Throughout the training, students are assessed at every level through both practical and written tests. On successful completion, participants receive a certificate confirming that they are qualified to teach the techniques covered in the course.
The program includes 28 nights of accommodation in shared or private rooms, course materials such as books, notebook, pen, and Jala Neti pot, full course training, private yoga consultation on request, vegetarian meals with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Wi-Fi.
Not included are flight tickets, airport pick-up and drop-off, longer tours and trips, travel and cancellation insurance, medical assistance, and personal expenses.
Applicants should have completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training course and have at least two years of experience as a practitioner or teacher. A spiritual orientation is important, along with the ability to sit in meditation for at least 20 minutes, hold selected Hatha Yoga postures comfortably for a minimum of 15 seconds, and retain the breath for 5 to 10 seconds during practice without difficulty.
Participants are also expected to follow yogic discipline, including purity, punctuality, early rising, and participation in daily activities. Good English communication skills are required, and all students must be medically fit both physically and mentally. A strong personal commitment is essential for completing the 28-day intensive training.
The practical component includes special Kriya practices, selected Hatha Yoga asana, higher pranayama techniques, mudra, bandha, purification practices, and a wide range of meditation methods. These include Yoga Nidra, awareness-based breathing, mantra chanting, trataka, concentration practices, specific Kriya Yoga meditation, and group meditation for peace and harmony.
Students learn how to design a Kriya Yoga class, teach different practices, communicate effectively, manage time, demonstrate clearly, offer assistance and correction, address individual needs, and understand the professional and business aspects of teaching yoga.
This section covers modern anatomy and physiology, including major body systems, joints, and muscles in relation to asana. It also explores yogic anatomy through the lens of the three bodies, five elements, five koshas, prana, mind, sense organs, motor organs, nadis, chakras, and kundalini, along with a holistic view of well-being.
Students study core philosophical ideas such as creation and dissolution, dharma, karma, religion, and the life teachings of great gurus, with special reference to Swami Vivekananda. The course also examines Bhakti Yoga, the history and development of Kriya Yoga, yogic lifestyle, and ethical guidelines for yoga teachers.
The practicum includes leading group teaching practice, observing and assisting other students, focusing on selected techniques, and sharing feedback. Karma Yoga may also be included as part of the training experience.
The course lasts 28 days, or 29 days including the arrival day. Classes run 6 days per week, and the daily schedule is tentative and may change as needed.
The New Delhi International Airport is around 240 kilometers from Rishikesh, while Jolly Grant Domestic Airport in Dehradun is about 20 kilometers away.
