Highlights:
This weekend retreat is designed to give your mind, body, and spirit a complete reset in a serene setting unlike any other.

Named after the old river that once flowed beside the Savista estate, this room looks out over the striking, jagged wooded ravines of its former tributary. A simple double bed is paired with a thoughtful mix of modern and restored Rajasthani furniture, while the soft furnishings in deep red and black echo pastoral weaves from western Rajasthan and hand-block prints from Bagru, an ancient artisan village 10 km from Savista.
Bright and airy, the room welcomes plenty of natural light and calming views of greenery all around. Carefully selected handmade and restored Rajasthani pieces and artifacts create a setting that feels both authentic and comfortable, with a very inviting bed designed for the best possible sleep. A restored colonial, traditional Indian, or contemporary writing desk is also included.
The room features an attached balcony overlooking the pool, and some rooms also offer a sun terrace or an additional glass-enclosed sitting room or patio with beautiful outdoor views. A few rooms include fireplaces. Windows in both the room and bathroom can be opened for fresh air whenever desired.
The ensuite bathroom offers hot and cold running water, rain showers, and views of the treetops.

Bhaskara is one of the many Sanskrit names for the sun. Derived from bhasa, meaning light, and kara, meaning creator, it can be understood as the Creator of Light. In Sanskrit tradition, the sun is also known by many other names, including Ravi, Mitra, Aditya, Surya, Divakara, Dinakara, Savitra, Prabhakara, Sahastraanshu, Vibhaavasu, and more.
It is also the name of a 7th-century Indian mathematician, remembered for his early use of the Hindu-Arabic decimal system with a circle for zero, as well as for a remarkable rational approximation of the sine function. In Hindu philosophy, the sun represents consciousness, awareness, illumination, and enlightenment. This connection is reflected in the Gayatri mantra, the most fundamental Hindu mantra, which asks for the mind to be illumined with wisdom and to shine like the sun.
The room pays quiet tribute to this symbolism through its palette of soft golden yellow, occasionally touched with red. Spacious and tubular in layout, it features a modern décor with a wrought iron king bed, along with a matching armoire and writing desk in golden-yellow tinged teak. Large French windows stretch across two walls and open onto a grove of shady Neem trees, while the balcony outside the door leads toward the courtyard and pool.
Set in the north-west corner of the haveli, the room faces both east and west, allowing sunlight to fill the space in the morning and again in the evening. It is likely the only guest room in the haveli from which, standing in the doorway, you can witness both sunrise and moonrise. The silver-white sheer curtains, woven by the weavers of Benaras (Varanasi), gently acknowledge the close relationship between the moon, the sun, and life on earth.
This relationship has long held meaning in India, where the moon influences water, the body, and the growth cycle of plants, among other things. The traditional lunar calendar continues to guide spiritual and religious life in many regions, and nearly all important auspicious days and festivals are linked to the full moon or new moon. The third evening of the waxing moon, known as trittiya in Sanskrit and moondram pirai in Tamil, is considered the most beautiful crescent of the month, a moment when lovers are believed to draw strength and blessings from the moon.

This spacious, cool room on the ground floor reflects Jaipur’s celebrated pink palette and its block-printing heritage, expressed through the soft furnishings and furniture. An antique carved king bed and wardrobe, along with creatively designed coffee and bedside tables, bring together traditional craftsmanship and comfort.
French windows open to gardens and wheat and maize fields on one side, while a balcony on the other side leads to the pool-court. The room’s colour scheme also harmonizes with the haveli’s red sandstone-paved inner courtyard. Red sandstone has been quarried near Jaipur for centuries, adding a strong sense of place to the setting.
The curtains are custom hand block printed in Sanganer and Bagru, Jaipur’s two renowned block-printing centers. The distinctive coffee table top is made from discarded hand-carved wooden print blocks. The embellished wooden bed and wardrobe are antique Rajasthani pieces that have long belonged to the haveli and have been carefully restored. The basket chairs, or muddhas, are crafted from reeds made of mature kusha grass that grows wild around Savista.
Most rooms feature a large king-size double bed and are suitable for single or double occupancy. Five rooms can be arranged as twin-bedded rooms. Each room offers exceptionally comfortable beds for the best possible sleep, a restored colonial, traditional Indian, or contemporary writing desk, and either a sun terrace, an additional glass-enclosed sitting room or patio with beautiful outdoor views, or an attached balcony overlooking the pool. A few rooms also include fireplaces.
Room and bathroom windows can be opened for fresh air whenever desired. All bathrooms are ensuite and include hot and cold running water, rain showers, and views of tree-tops.

Named for the delicate bloom of the Kachnaar tree, this intimate upper-level room offers a warm and inviting stay with a king bed and richly detailed furnishings in vivid shades of red and hot pink. Mirror-work embroidery adds texture and sparkle to the soft furnishings, while touches of olive green provide a gentle contrast.
Although smaller than the other guest rooms, the space feels open and airy thanks to a full-length traditional carved wooden mirror and, most notably, its two outdoor areas. On one side, a large private sun terrace opens to the east and north, where guests can take in views of the front gardens, the rising sun, and the trees and fields beyond. Nearby flowering plants add a natural fragrance to the atmosphere. On the other side, an open sun deck overlooks the pool and welcomes the afternoon sun from the west.
The room’s textiles are hand woven, and the curtains are finished with embroidered mirror work created by nomadic camel- and cattle-herding tribal women from western Rajasthan. Every detail reflects a strong sense of place, craftsmanship, and tradition.
Just outside, three Kachnaar trees once reached over the wall of the sun terrace, and during the flowering season from late winter to early summer, the terrace would be covered with fragrant pink, crimson, and mauve blossoms. A powerful storm later brought down two of the trees and damaged the wall structure, echoing a traditional Rajasthani belief that trees should be planted where the shadow of the house ends, allowing the home and nature to live in balance.
Kachnaar tree facts
The Kachnaar has long been valued in Ayurveda and by tribal healers for the health-promoting qualities of its stem bark, flowers, and leaves. Its buds are also used in vegetarian cooking. Traditional uses and research have highlighted a range of properties, including support for blood sugar balance, anti-ulcer activity, liver protection, possible tumour control, nephroprotective qualities, and wound healing support.

Soft muted greens and warm yellow tones inspired by the Khejri tree are reflected throughout this bright first-floor room. Thoughtful furnishings and custom-printed robes continue the palette in shades of green and yellow, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere.
Inside, you will find a traditional king-size teak bed, a charming antique writing desk, a large chest, and a restored traditional wardrobe. A cozy fireplace adds an especially welcoming touch, while the airy interiors are filled with natural light and views of greenery all around. Handmade and restored Rajasthani furniture and artifacts are paired with traditional and modern pieces for a distinctive sense of place.
From the windows, you can look out over the yellow and green flowering tops of siamese cassia trees, interspersed with khejri trees. The sunny balcony hangs above the pool courtyard, and a large sun deck is located just beside it, offering more space to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Guest facilities include complimentary breakfast, tea and coffee making facilities, pure natural drinking water from Savista’s borewells, complimentary nibbles, free wireless internet, air conditioning, and space heating in chilly weather. You will also find a sumptuous duvet, high-quality cotton bed linen, 100% cotton towels, robes, room slippers, and branded herbal bath products.
Additional services include business support such as scanning, copying, and printing; laundry and ironing at an extra charge; a hair dryer; concierge service; maps and travel guides; medicines; germicide gargle; sewing accessories; doctor and dentist appointments and facilitation; and, for guests with physical disabilities, one room can be adapted to suit their needs.
Most rooms feature a large king-size double bed and are designed for single or double occupancy. Five rooms can be converted into twin-bedded rooms. A child under 4 stays free when sharing the parents’ bed; children aged 4 and above require an extra bed. Four rooms can accommodate an additional rollaway bed for a child only, for a small extra charge.
All guest rooms are non-smoking, and the property is pet-free. There are no TVs or intercoms in the rooms. No hidden costs apply: there are no resort fees or vague charges, no workout charges, no towel replacement costs, no wi-fi costs, no parking fees, and no breakfast bills.

This spacious poolside room opens directly onto the pool from its balcony, while a full wall of French and smaller windows on the opposite side frames a leafy arbor of Karanji trees.
The décor brings together carved and painted antique Rajasthani furniture with soft furnishings in orange and brick red, balanced by vivid blue accents. The curtains and bedside rugs are custom hand blockprinted locally in Bagru using vegetable colours. The bed is an antique piece, hand carved from wood and a fine example of traditional Rajasthani craftsmanship.
A second antique highlight is the coffee table, still bearing a handpainted image of Lord Ganesha in vermillion. A handwoven rug and modern ceramic bedside lampstands in brilliant blue add a fresh contrast to the deep terracotta and vermillion tones throughout the room.
Terracotta is an Italian word meaning “cooked” or “baked” earth, referring to hard-fired clay with a brownish-orange colour when unglazed. It is used for pottery, architectural ornaments, bricks, sculpture, and more. Its Hindi equivalent is Geru.
At Savista, this room reflects the property’s strong connection to the earth. The reddish-orange terracotta palette appears throughout the grounds, from terracotta pots holding palms and other plants in the courtyard and gardens, to brick-paved pathways that lead past a lily pool. Clay firepots line the walkways and guide the way after dark.
Unplastered brick walls border the lily pools, the paths to the alfresco dining area, and the outer walls of the property. Clay lampshades create soft, focused light in the gazebos, indoor restaurant and bar, and spa area, while clay oil lamp holders with candles bring warmth to both indoor and outdoor dining spaces.
Overall, the room celebrates Savista’s deep rootedness to the earth.

With white adobe floors and soft furnishings in deep indigo, this room brings together traditional character and contemporary style through its blend of wrought-iron furnishings. It features a king-sized wrought iron bed, a traditional Rajasthani wooden wardrobe, and a cozy fireplace that adds a warm, inviting touch.
From the upper-level balcony, guests can look out over the pool, while a row of windows opens to views of treetops and gardens. The rich indigo palette evokes many layers of India’s past and present, echoing the color’s deep connection to Jaipur and Rajasthan’s celebrated hand blockprinted fabrics and handmade blue pottery.
Indigo has a long and remarkable history in India. Known in ancient times as the original home of the indigo plant, the country has been associated with this prized dye since the Indus Valley period. Used for textile dyeing and printing on cotton, hemp, and silk, indigo traveled from India to ancient Greece and Rome, and later reached the Mediterranean and the rest of Europe through Arab traders. Valued across the world as a luxury dye, it became so closely linked with India that its name passed into English through Greek and Latin roots.
In India, indigo was also used to make ink and oil-based paints, and it held an important place in the Ayurvedic tradition, where it was valued for its healing properties. By the 16th and 17th centuries, large areas of northern and eastern India were devoted to indigo cultivation. Under British rule, it became a highly profitable export and was widely known as “blue gold.” The system placed heavy demands on farmers, and the later rise of synthetic indigo in Germany ended Britain’s dominance in the trade.
Indigo also played a role in India’s independence movement, with the Champaran protests of 1916–17 marking a major turning point. Today, India remains one of the few countries where natural indigo dyeing and printing continue without interruption. Guests may also wish to see natural indigo dyes in use in the block printing village of Bagru, just 8 km from Savista.

Moonlit white and copper romance define this spacious upper-level room, where an all-white palette inspired by blooming jasmine is beautifully balanced by the warm copper tones of the four-poster king bed and traditional Rajasthani furniture. The result is a calm, elegant hideaway with a distinctly romantic feel.
Set above the pool, the room features a balcony with peaceful views, along with windows that look out over treetops and green fields. A fireplace adds extra charm, making this an especially inviting choice for honeymooners or anyone seeking a quiet retreat.
The inspiration for the room comes from the jasmine that flowers throughout the haveli in summer, filling Savista with its rich, moist fragrance and offering a refreshing contrast to the dry Rajasthan climate. The copper bed and cupboard showcase old-style Rajasthani woodwork, while the copper water canteens placed on the cupboard reflect the Ayurvedic tradition of storing drinking water in copper vessels.

Derived from the Hindi word for saffron, this folky Rajasthani room captures the spirit of the sunlit desert through rich tones of flaming saffron and deep red, brought to life with traditional folk motifs. A king-sized bed and a spacious atrium create a generous sense of comfort, while views over the garden and the rising sun add a serene, uplifting touch.
In Rajasthan, Kesar carries many layers of meaning. It evokes saffron, one of the region’s most cherished spices, as well as the fragrance and beauty of sandalwood. It also recalls the golden light of the desert and the sand dunes that define the landscape, symbolizing auspiciousness, abundance, and prosperity. This radiant colour has long been a favorite in local dress, appearing in women’s veils and men’s turbans, often paired with bright pink or vivid red.
Beyond its visual richness, Kesar also speaks to love and longing. In Rajasthani culture, it is closely associated with the deep emotional bond between lovers, expressed in the word Kesariya. It reflects both separation and reunion, carrying the feeling of yearning that has shaped many lives in this region, where distance, migration, and marriage traditions have long influenced family and social ties.
At once warm, symbolic, and deeply rooted in local heritage, Kesar is a name that holds meaning for both men and women in Rajasthan, and this room reflects that same sense of character and tradition.

This inviting bedroom blends natural warmth with a calm, grounded atmosphere. A sturdy wooden bed anchors the space, while soft blue cushions bring a refreshing touch of color that feels both soothing and uplifting. Above the headboard, an ethnic wall hanging adds character and a sense of cultural charm, creating a room that feels personal and thoughtfully styled.
The overall design is simple yet welcoming, making it an ideal place to unwind after a full day. Natural textures and understated details help create a restful mood, while the blue accents echo a sense of serenity throughout the room. Whether you are settling in for a quiet evening or starting a new day with ease, this bedroom offers a comfortable setting designed for relaxation.
