A weekend silent retreat at Gayles. The price is per person and covers all teaching, food, refreshments, and your chosen accommodation.
Time and space are among the greatest gifts you can offer yourself. And when you find peace within, you offer something equally precious to the world around you.
In daily life, noise and distraction can leave little room for self-reflection. We move quickly, often with our minds on autopilot, and rarely pause long enough to truly know ourselves. Our silent retreats create that pause: a chance to step back from the pace of life, make space for yourself, and deepen your understanding of who you are. You leave feeling refreshed, reset, and ready to meet everyday life again.
This is a simple, grounded, and inspiring path toward self-discovery.
The first step on the path to yoga often begins with the physical postures of Asana. While this is an important part of the journey, it is only the beginning. Cultivating self-awareness through Svadhyaya, made possible by stepping back from life and creating time and space for yourself, is an essential part of the yoga path.
From plant to plate, we serve homemade meals made largely from our own lovingly tended organic gardens, keeping the food as fresh and natural as possible with a virtually zero carbon footprint. We value simplicity and generosity, and prepare and serve each meal with care and respect using the best ingredients available. All food is vegetarian, and alternatives to dairy and wheat products can be offered.
Gayles is located in some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Set within eleven acres between National Trust, Country Park, and Forestry Commission land, it offers magnificent views in every direction. From Friston Forest to Cuckmere Haven and the Seven Sisters, you are always just a short walk from some of the area’s most iconic scenery.
