Yoga from the Source
Centre Lothlorien is affiliated with The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, founded by Shri Yogendra, who learned yoga from a Saddhu. Saddhus are the original practitioners of yoga, devoted to reaching illumination while living solitary lives and keeping their knowledge to themselves. Shri Yogendra was the first yogi to start a family and bring yoga knowledge to the public. For 100 years, the Yogendra family has shared this knowledge, and Centre Lothlorien is the first to offer their study program in Europe. A team of teachers, all trained at The Yoga Institute and led by Pinky More from Mumbai, will come to France to teach the essence of yoga.
Yoga as a Way of Life
For one month, you will live alongside the team and teachers of Centre Lothlorien. You will follow a natural daily rhythm and discover which foods best support your health. Yoga is presented as a practical guide for meeting life’s challenges. Everything taught during the course can be reflected upon personally, and by integrating these experiences into your own life, you may overcome obstacles you were not even aware of and move toward a happier life.
Content of the Teacher Training Course
The course includes both theoretical and practical aspects of yoga. The practical training covers all main asanas, with background knowledge and guidance on how, why, when, and when not to use them. You will also study pranayama, techniques leading to meditation, and kriyas. Special attention is given to unique techniques and concepts pioneered by the founders of The Yoga Institute.
The theoretical part explores the origins of yoga and texts such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. You will study the psychology and philosophy of yoga in depth. With support from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, among other sources, you will examine your own patterns of thinking and learn how to live in a simpler, healthier, and happier way. The course also includes anatomy and physiology classes, along with approaches to modern topics such as stress management.
Pinky More
The training is led by a team of teachers from The Yoga Institute, headed by Pinky More. Born in India, Pinky completed an advanced teacher training program at The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, the oldest organized yoga center in the world. After several years of working and traveling internationally, she settled in the Netherlands to introduce Indian Classical Yoga, the traditional style of yoga. In Kerala, India, she studied ayurveda and began offering ayurvedic massages. Since 2012, Pinky has organized yoga retreats at Centre Lothlorien in France. In 2019, she initiated the affiliation between Centre Lothlorien and The Yoga Institute. Today, alongside leading her own teacher training courses in France, she also teaches in several other European countries and participates in yoga programs in Ghana and India.

The three-room wooden cottage is set right at the forest’s edge, with views across the vegetable garden and the gently sloping grounds. From the house, you can step directly into the forest and enjoy a peaceful natural setting.
The cottage features a spacious veranda and three separate rooms. On the left, you’ll find a single bed, a table, and a chair. The middle room serves as the kitchen and includes a two-burner gas stove, kitchen equipment, and a table with chairs. On the right, there is a double bed, two chairs, a table, and a cupboard for your belongings. The beds are made up for your arrival.
The house has electricity, but no running water. Guests use the sanitary facilities behind the holiday home, approximately 50 meters away, just like the guests of the other cottages. There you will find a shower, toilet, a four-burner gas appliance, and washing-up facilities.
